Brian's predictions for September 10 games

Stringer at Sumrall

The Red Devils will be on the road for the third straight week as they travel to Sumrall. These two teams played a wild one last year as the Bobcats lost on the last play of the game 34-33.

The Devils’ running game is excellent, averaging 240 yards per game, led by a host of running backs.

The Bobcats are 0-3 after last weeks’ loss to Purvis. This game should be another wide open game. The Devils will be at home the next three weeks.

Newton at Sylva-Bay

The Saints enter the game at 3-0 after last weeks’ win over Winston. The offense continues to shine with 1138 yards on the ground. The run defense has improved, allowing only 79 yards last week.

The Generals are at 2-1 with running back Dillon Williams leading the way, but the Generals are in a tough spot here on the road.

Prewitt leads team in rushing with 760 yards on the year.

Sylva-Bay 35

Newton 14

Bay Springs at Heidelberg

The two teams meet in a Jasper County grudge match. Both teams have struggled out of the gate at 0-3. The schedule has been tough for both teams so far as they have played two common opponents in Newton and Raleigh, but the slate gets tough for both after this one.

This rivalry has been a good one for many years, a rivalry where the visiting team usually wins.

Bay Springs 14

Heidelberg 13

Heidelberg Academy at Hillcrest Christian

The Rebels bounce back last week with a solid effort in a win over Alpha 26-14. The Rebels look good running the football with Skyler Prunera and defensively, the Rebels look good with leading tackler Zack Foster.

Hillcrest has struggled to an 0-3 start and the Cougars may have to wait another week for their first win.
