A summer in Bay Springs would not be complete without Hol-Mac Corporation’s Tinkers Camp Graduation. This year’s event marked the third graduating class since its inception in 2008. The camp has been a huge success growing in numbers every year. The students learn to ‘tinker’ with such things as 4-cycle engines, ropes and pulleys, a drill press, hydraulics, and electronics. Along with the projects, the students are tutored in math and vocabulary. The focus of the event is to help students with their studies, give them a positive outlook on learning, and expose them to technical information that will help them in the future. Mr. Charles Holder also gives the students some “Life’s Lessons” during some of the class room sessions. Pictured above are the 2010 Hol-Mac Corp. Tinker’s Camp graduates (from left to right).
