Three suspects, wanted for the burglary of a storage shed and several home burglaries in Jasper and Clarke County, have been arrested and are being held in Clarke County. Two men, Talrius Harper, 30, and Michael Simms, 25, and one 17-year-old were arrested and charged with 42 counts of burglary each in Jasper County, according to Jasper County Sheriff Kenneth Cross.
The three were also arrested and charged with several counts of burglary in Clarke County, where they remain in jail. Their bond has been set, but they remain jailed.
Their 42 counts of burglary in Jasper County stem from a July 5 break-in of a storage shed in Lake Eddins. Phil Fuller, owner of the storage sheds, said that every one of the 36 sheds was broken into. He said that the burglars apparently used a crow bar and hammer, causing over $10,000 worth of damage. He said that there were few items taken, such as guns, cross bows and hunting bows.
Sheriff Cross said that some items have been recovered. He said that the suspects will likely appear in court in February to face indictment.
Fuller said that he was glad that the sheriff’s departments had done their job and that suspects had been detained.
