Channing Latroy McCurdy
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department has reported that Channing Latroy McCurdy, 25, was arrested Tuesday, April 20 on drug charges. Officers reported that they received a tip that McCurdy was selling narcotics from his residence on Lakeview Drive, within the city limits of Bay Springs.
A search warrant was obtained and the Jasper County S.W.A.T. Team executed the warrant. During the search, the officers found guns, a large amount of marijuana and packing materials for the controlled substance. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance while in possession of a firearm with intent to distribute, according to officers.
Since McCurdy was already out on a felony bond from Jones County for similar charges, he was denied bond in Jasper County, where, as of Tuesday, he remained in custody.
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department wishes to remind residents that there is an anonymous tip line that can be used if there is any illegal activity. The Jasper County Crime Line is 601-764-3784. Callers must leave a tip but do not have to leave a name.
