The 20th annual Veteran’s Cookout, held by Southern Industrial Contractors, Inc., (SIC) will be Sat., May 15. The annual event will be held at SIC in Industrial Park in Bay Springs. The program begins at 4 p.m., with dinner to follow. Registration will be held from noon until 4 p.m.
SIC sponsors this event each year for veterans, military personnel and their spouses. The event is being held in memory of CPL Dustin Jerome Lee, who was fatally wounded March 21, 2007 in Fallujah, Iraq.
Special exhibits will be displayed by Deep South Military Vehicle Club and Bay Springs National Guard Unit 204.
Special guests include Senator Roger Wicker, Colonel Glenn D. Frazier, survivor of the Bataan Death March; artist Damon Hendrix, an Elvis impersonator; and CPL Dustin Lee’s K-9 partner, Lex.
