Seventeen students from seven area schools participated in the 2009 Hol-Mac Tinkers Camp, June 22-26. The purpose of the camp was to instill mechanical curiosity in the participants. Hopefully this will result in an increased yearning for additional educational experiences for the participants. Character development was emphasized throughout the camp. Each camper participated in four/five person teams coached by adult volunteers and worked on specialized projects of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, welding, physics, mathematics and drawing. The projects were hands on as well as classroom instruction. The campers worked on improving skills in math, fractions and measuring. Pictured above are the campers with Charles Holder the Head Camp Ranger.
