The Dixie Youth World Series Inspectors paid a visit to Jones County on Saturday, February 21 to inspect hotels and facilities. A breakfast was hosted by Neal Schaffer, and a church van for the day was sponsored by Life Church.  Following their breakfast the inspectors discussed their “game plan” with Parks and Recreations Director Elvin Ulmer. A number of private and public organizations have been hosting seminars to provide training for employees of businesses that deal with the public – whether in retail, service or hospitality industries – in preparation for the upcoming World Series in Laurel this summer.  If you are interested in a copy of the customer service seminar please email Donna Williams at donnawedajones.com. The next seminar will be on hospitality and is set for sometime in May.  Shown left to right: Gary Suddith, Elvin Ulmer, Pop Massengale (national director),  Wes Skelton (Dixie Youth Baseball commissioner), Donna Williams, Gary McJunkin (Dixie Youth national secretary), David Smith (Dixie Youth Baseball state director), Randy Meador, Keith Greenlee (national director), Jimmy Zila (District 5 director).
