On Thursday, March 5 a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to open Erin & Company Hair & Nail Salon, located at 109 South Magnolia in the old Swartzfager Ford repair shop. Once again vision and creativity is demonstrated in transforming an old building destined for destruction into a viable and totally different venue from its original intention. With a little cosmetic uplift and the addition of necessary equipment, Erin Tanner has converted the rear portion of the old repair shop into a beautiful hair salon. Joining Erin in realizing her childhood dream is cosmetologist Kayla Sims and nail technician Jennifer Johnston.
“Erin has always wanted to be a cosmetologist since childhood,” stated her mother, Jamie Walley. “She use to style and cut her Barbie doll’s hair when she was little.”
”I’ve been doing hair professionally for four years,” said Erin, “and it was time to have my own place.”
Erin & Company Hair Salon is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. For an appointment call 601.649.1000.
